Rigour Research’s Cornelius Barry Recognised as an MRS Research Hero 2026

The Research Heroes programme, run by the Market Research Society (MRS), celebrates individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to the research, insight and analytics profession. To receive the honour, nominees must earn the support of at least 80% of the judging panel, recognising their outstanding impact on colleagues, clients and the wider industry.

Cornelius was nominated for his unwavering commitment to supporting those around him, with judges recognising that he has always ensured his colleagues receive the encouragement, fairness and opportunities they need to thrive. His dedication to social equity, mentoring and creating an inclusive workplace has been a defining feature of his 25-year career.

Beyond leading Rigour Research, Cornelius has made a lasting contribution to the wider industry through his support of inclusivity initiatives, his work with the Market Research Benevolent Association (MRBA), and his passion for championing high-quality, ethical research.

Commenting on the recognition, Cornelius said:

“I’m incredibly honoured to be recognised as an MRS Research Hero. Research has given me the opportunity to work with some remarkable people across the world, and I’ve always believed that our industry is at its best when we support one another, champion fairness and never lose sight of the importance of quality. This recognition belongs as much to the colleagues, clients and friends I’ve had the privilege of working alongside throughout my career as it does to me.”
